Who are ökoform?

Before founding ökoform, the founder, Peter Waine, spent over 15 years in commercial office & interior design to help organisations make the most of their space, help increase staff morale, well-being, comfort, and productivity.

During this time, Peter noticed a disparity with heating individuals in the workplace. There would often be disagreements about the temperature of the office; some people prefer a warm working environment while others like it cool.

This disagreement is commonly known as a 'thermostat war'.

Save money with a heated desk

ökoform's goal is "to provide comfortable, well-heated working environments across the country for a fraction of the average heating costs of standard gas & electric heating options."

This cost-effective solution uses just 260 watts to run, as opposed to 2500-3000 watts for the average desk fan heater. Perfect for those not wanting to turn on the heating and isolate the heat to their workspace only. 

How it works

Using infrared radiant heat technology, these desks heat people and objects rather than the air, meaning the heat is contained to the individual workspace instead of the entire room.

The desks are designed so that the heat is directed down underneath the desk, this way any objects such as laptops, game consoles and phones avoid overheating. 

What are the benefits to organisations?

According to the Carbon Trust for every degree you turn the thermostat down by you can save up to 8% on your heating bill, with thermostats in offices set at temperatures as high as 24°C+ it is possible to save over 28% of your heating bill (this can amount to huge cost savings in some offices).

Whilst the above is a huge saving opportunity, it often goes unnoticed how many individuals have additional plugin radiators & fan heaters. The typical plugin heater is 2000 – 3000Watts! ökoform's desks run at only 260Watts (meaning it is possible to run up to 11 of our desks for the same cost as only 1 plugin heater!)
